Pets are forever. And forever doesnt mean as long as its convenient for you

Every day, dogs are betrayed by the humans that they put their trust in, and given up for a variety of reasons. Some of these dogs were impulse buys. Others are senior dogs given up in favour of younger models; dog with health issues that are abandoned. And the unfortunate few whose owners took the cowardly way out and euthanised perfectly healthy dogs. All because they didnt bother to put in the work.

This sequel to the best-selling book We Adopted continues to document some of these rescues and their journeys towards doggie salvation. There are tales of amazing resilience, stories of love, trust, human greed and cruelty, miracle rebounds and the owners who never gave up on them.

Stories of young puppies who were given up after lockdown cos there was no use for them any more. Amazing owners who painstakenly prepared their dogs for the long flight home when they had to leave Singapore during the pandemic.

This book is as much about the rescue dogs as it is about a group of people with so much empathy, big hearts and so much love. Many of them have gone beyond the call of duty. And they are proof that not all heroes wear capes.

With guest commentaries by Aarthi Shankar (Executive Director, SPCA Sg), Fred Leow (Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant & Family Dog Mediator) and Tony Knight (The Dog Listener and star of the worlds first stand-up comedy show about dog behaviour).

Adoption is a badge of honour. And all the featured dog heroes wear their badge loudly and proudly.
