Ive never seen a quilt quite like this one, and the moment I did, I knew it had to become part of the Sentimental Stitches collection. Youve been asking for a new appliqu project, and I think this one is just perfect. Its truly one of a kind a little quirky, which only adds to its charm.

I cant help but wonder about the story behind it. Did she have a few extra nine-patch blocks left over from another quilt? Were the album blocks and border pieces leftovers, too? And that bold red and green vine border Im not sure I completely understand it, but who am I to question the creativity of a quilter from the past? She had a vision, she followed it, and kudos to her for doing it her way!

The finished size of the quilt is 81\” x 92\”.

• There are 15 album-style appliqu blocks, each one with its own personality, and 15 double nine-patch blocks with a playful touch of appliqu right in the center. The vine-and-leaf border is a classic the kind that wraps everything up with that unmistakable vintage charm.

  Each month, via email, youll receive acolor photo of the blocks, along with patterns for an applique block and a nine-patch block that you can easily rotary cut and machine piece.Its the perfect mix of handwork and simple piecing just the kind of project that invites you to slow down and enjoy the process.

  Before you begin, dig deep into your fabric stash and pull out those favorite prints youve been saving for something special. The only fabrics youll need in larger amounts are your background, red, and green and Ive included the specific yardage for those so planning is easy.

  This is a 12-month journey youll truly enjoy. Most months, youll receive one appliqu block and one nine-patch appliqu design, and a few times along the way, therell be a little surprise two blocks instead of one!

  Its the kind of quilt that feels like it has a story to tell and by the time youve finished, it will have yours stitched right into it.

You can work with whatever style of fabric you want. This quilt would be amazing with whatever you decide. Most of my favorite quilts are scrappy, and this one is no different.

I\’ve kept the applique blocks \”quirky\” but feel free to adjust them if you want.
